What is happening?

NORTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL

KILLINGWORTH WAY, KILLINGWORTH (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order prohibits all through traffic on Killingworth Way 65 metres underneath Killingworth A19 interchange between the A19 north and southbound entry slip roads. 

An alternate route is available as follows:
• Eastbound traffic travel north on A19 to Moor Farm travel south on A19 to Killingworth interchange
• Westbound traffic travel south on A19 to Holystone travel north on A19 to Killingworth interchange

The temporary Order is required to allow refurbishment of the bridge parapet.

The Order will come into force on 27 August 2024 lasting until 14 September 2024. Working hours will be from 20:00 - 06:00.
