What is happening?

(2024 AIG WOMEN’S OPEN – ST. ANDREWS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024
Fife Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to -
(i) introduce a one-way traffic system for vehicular traffic and cycles on the roads specified in Schedule 1;
(ii) restrict parking at the locations specified in Schedule 2;
(iii) restrict the speed of vehicular traffic on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3;
(iv) prohibit the use by vehicular traffic and cycles on the roads specified in Schedule 4;
(v) restrict the use of the car parks specified in Schedule 5;
(vi) prohibit westbound vehicular traffic on East Scores from proceeding on to The Scores as specified in Schedule 6;
(vi) prohibit vehicular traffic from making right hand turns as specified in Schedule 7;
(vii) allow parking by ‘permit only’ on the roads specified in Schedule 8; and
(viii) restrict stopping and parking at the location specified in Schedule 9.
The Order will be in force between 15/08/24 and 28/08/24 during the times specified in the Schedules hereto.
The purpose of the Order is to ease traffic congestion during the Championship by providing direct access to the Championship for coaches and priority vehicles, providing dedicated displaced residential parking and maintaining local traffic flows. Pedestrian and emergency access is unaffected by the Order.
The parking and waiting of vehicles permitted by virtue of The Fife Council (Waiting & Loading Restrictions and On Street Parking) (Consolidation) Order 2013 may be suspended at any time during the said period in respect of any section of highway mentioned therein, which in the opinion of Police Scotland or Fife Council should be kept free of standing vehicles. Alternative routes will be signposted on the day and will be controlled by the Police.
