Barrow in Furness, Temporary Traffic Regulation Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A590 WALNEY ROAD, ABBEY ROAD, AND MILLSTONE AVENUE, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. A590 Walney Road, from its junction with Wilkie Road, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 2km.
Alternative Route: via the A5087 and the unrestricted section of the A590.
Duration: From 13th August 2024 for approx. 8 nights during the hours of 2000 and 0700 (Ref: TT ROW/11060)
2. Abbey Road, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Rawlinson Street, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 470m.
Alternative Route: via Rawlinson Street, A5087 Strand and Duke Street.
Duration: From 19th August 2024 for approx. 16 nights during the hours of 2000 and 0700 (Ref: TTROW/11155)
3. Millstone Avenue, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Broadclose, extending in a north easterly then easterly direction for a distance of approx. 335m.
Alternative Route: via Broadclose, Hazel Gill and Middlefield. Duration: From 23rd August 2024 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/11160)

The Order will come into operation on 13th August 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
