What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 54 (Part), Calne; from its junction with Cop Croft to its junction with The Pippin to enable Sewer repair. Alternative route via The Pippin - Oxford Road - Cop Croft and vice versa. The closure and diversion will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 14 August 2024. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. Alternative route via C124 (unaffected length) - Fairford Road to County Boundary - C116 - Crossroads to County Boundary - C419 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 September 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 12 September 2024. This Order will come into operation on 06 September 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 13 September 2024. Alternative route Ironmonger Lane - Back Lane and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 02 September 2024 and the closure will be required until 04 September 2024. It is anticipated that the works will take the state duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. And to temporarily suspend the existing prohibition order of no entry for vehicles from Cross Hayes junction into Silver Street to facilitate for diversion for traffic to enable Openreach to carry out access to underground network to install fibre cables and associated works. Alternative route A via High Street - Oxford Street - Cross Hayes - Silver Street. Alternative route B via Silver Street - St Dennis Road - High Street. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 5 days. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Alternative route via C52 - A345 and vice versa. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
