What is happening?

UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC

REGULATION ACT 1984

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

(THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(LANGLEY HILL, TILEHURST)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024

The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Langley Hill in Tilehurst between its junction with Old Bath Road and its junction with Halls Road.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Halls Road, The Meadway, New Lane Hill, Hogarth Avenue, A4 Bath Road, Old Bath Road and vice versa.

The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for SSE to provide a new service connection.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 16th August 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 17th August and 23rd August 2024.

(PARK WALL LANE, BASILDON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024

The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Park Wall Lane in the Parish of Basildon between its junction with Blandys Lane and its junction with Unnamed Road from Mead Lane to Park Wall Lane.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Reading Rd (A329), Hook End La, Aldworth Rd, and vice versa.

The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs and maintenance works.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th August 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 28th and 30th August 2024

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected.
