What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.7 (PART) & NO.12 (PART) LONG EATON

WHEN: 24 August to 7 February 2025.
WHERE: Close Footpath No.7 from SK504329 to where it meets footpath No.12. Close footpath No.12 from where it meets footpath No.7 to SK507325.
REASON: To facilitate public safety during construction of a new pipeline.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the River Trent south of the closure travel north along footpath No.11, then northwest along footpath No.49. When footpath No.49 meets footpath No.7, travel west for approx. 205m and then take the unnumbered path travelling northeast. When you reach Barton Lane turn right and this will join Beeston Bridleway No.70. This Bridleway will re-join the Trent Valley Way on the Nottingham side of the closure. Vice Versa from the north.

Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.

Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place.

The County Council intends to make an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
