THE M1 MOTORWAY
(JUNCTION 43 TO JUNCTION 41)
(TEMPORARY 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited has made an Order on the M1 Motorway, in the County of West Yorkshire, to enable structure maintenance and painting works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 7pm on Monday 12 August 2024 for 5 months, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, 24 hours a day, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the M1 southbound carriageway from its merge with the M621 southbound carriageway at Stourton Interchange
(M1 Junction 43, M621 Junction 7) southwards for a distance of 4500 metres.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles). The Order comes into force on the 11 August 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
