TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS

30 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON THE A337 MILFORD ROAD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council") proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 82, 84 and 122(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to extend the 30 miles per hour speed limit on A337 Milford Road between a point 17 metres east of the access road leading to Efford Household Waste Recycling Centre and a point 203 metres west of that point, an approximate distance of 203 metres.

This order will revoke and re-instate 'The Hampshire (Various Roads, Barton-on-Sea to Pennington Area) (30, 40 and 50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2015' with no change of substance save for the extended 30 miles per hour limit, described above, and the revocation of schedule I restricted roads from the original 2015 order. However, these restricted roads will remain by virtue of section 82(1)(a) of the Act, 30 miles per hour with no requirement for an Order.

(ii) New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA (Opening hours: Monday - Thursday: 08.45 - 17.15; Friday: 08.45 - 16.45)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 - 17.15; Fridays 8.30 - 16.45)

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email public.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference: - C861/KK, by Friday 30th August 2024. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as "The Hampshire (Various Roads, Barton-on-Sea to Pennington Area) (30, 40 and 50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2024."
