(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of A6070 B6254 TO M6 Junction 35, Carnforth from The M6 Roundabout at junction 35 to the junction with the roundabout on A6 Scotland Road .
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 2000 hours and 0600 hours from Monday 12th August 2024 until Wednesday 14th August 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic (except HGVs) affected by the closure is via:-
Northbound: A6 Scotland Road – A6070 Burton Road – Into North Yorkshire and vice versa.
Southbound: B6601 Leapers Wood Road – B6254 Kellet Road – B62544 Market Street – A6 Scotland Road and vice versa.
6. An alternative route for HGVs affected by the closure is via:-
Diversion for HGVs will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow bearing replacement works to be carried out.
