EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL

(A70 Murkirk Road, Lugar) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024

On 6th August 2024 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, to allow Carriageway Resurfacing.

Temporary Road Closure - A70 Murkirk Road, Lugar

10 miles from B743 Sorn junction with A70 through to Cumnock A70. Glenmuir Road Logan junction with A70.

The Order commences on Monday 26th August 2024 for a maximum duration of 18 months or until works are complete whatever is earlier.

The works will commence for 5 days under Temporary Traffic Management/Convoy System.

A full Road Closure will then be in place from 08:00 until 20:00 Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1st September with it being open out-with these times.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians' out-with the working zone will be maintained when possible and safe to do so.

An alternative route will be signed via A70 diversion via B743 Sorn to Mauchline, A76 Cumnock A70 and vice versa.

Glenmuir Road Logan diversion via Glenmuir Water Road, Loganhill Road, Craigens Road, Glaisnock Road, Ayr Road A70 and vice versa.
