What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS NEAR CALDER BRIDGE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 28 August 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U4047, near Calder Bridge - from 28 August 2024 for approx. 2 weeks

(Ref:TTROC/11616)

From its junction with the C4004 Cold Fell, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 1230m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

2. U4042, near Calder Bridge - from 11 September 2024 for approx. 2 weeks

(Ref:TTROC/11617)

From its junction with the C4016 to its junction with the C4004. Alternative Route: via the C4004 Cold Fell, A595 and the C4016 Hardgates Road.

3. C4004, near Calder Bridge - from 14 September 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref:TTROC/11619)

From its junction with the A595 to its junction with the C4042. Alternative Route: via the C4042, C4016 Hardgates Road and the A595.

4. U4051, Nether Wasdale - from 17 September 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref:TTROC/11622)

From its junction with the C4018 to its junction with the C4019.

Alternative Route: via the C4019 and C4018.

5. Ponsonby Road, Near Calder Bridge - from 20 Septemer 2024 for approx. 4 days

(Ref:TTROC/11623)

From its junction with the A595, extending in an overall easterly direction for approx 518m.

Alternative Route: There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

6. C4025 Nether Wasdale - from 30 September 2024 for Approx. 3 days

(Ref:TTROC/11631)

From its junction with the C4019 extending in a southerly direction for approx. 110m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C4025 and C4019.

7. U4090, Gosforth - from 12 October 2024 for approx. 2 weeks

(Ref:TTROC/11621)

From its junction with the A595 extending in a north easterly then south easterly direction for an overall distance of 2.5km to its junction with the C4018.

Alternative Route: via the C4018, Wasdale Road, C4026 and the A595.
