What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
Proposed Prohibition of Access “Saturday Market Days” - Churchfield Road, Acton. The Ealing (Prescribed Routes) (No. ***) Traffic Order 202*.

1. The London Borough of Ealing hereby gives Notice that they propose the above-mentioned Order under section 6 and 124 the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the proposed Order would be to prohibit motor vehicles from accessing the Churchfield Road (from Alfred Road to Burlington Gardens) between the hours of 07:00-1800 hours on certain Saturdays, to accommodate on Saturday “market days”. Exemptions such as would be provided such as for emergency service vehicles; vehicles gaining access or egress from any premises fronting upon or accessible from the closed section of road; any vehicle in connection with Churchfield Road Saturday market days. “Market days” would be 14 September 2024 and 14 November 2024. Additional dates may be provided by an amendment Order.

3. The alternative route for: - (a) eastbound traffic shall be via Spencer Road, Shakespear Road, Milton Road; and
(b) westbound traffic shall be via Cowper Road, Shakespear Road, Spencer Road, or as signed on site.

4. Enquiries about the proposals can be made by e-mail to ‘trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk’ or by telephoning the Ealing Council Project Engineer on 0208 825 9596.

5. The proposed Order, other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order including plans, are available by e-mail from ‘trafficnotices@ealing.gov. uk’ or by inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made, or the Council decides not to make the Order.

6. Any objections or other representations about either of the proposed Order should be sent in writing by e-mail to ‘trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk’ or by post to Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference P056-2024 until the 28 August 2024. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should include the address of the author.
