Hertfordshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"):-
1. that length of Old Rectory Drive, Hatfield from its junction with B197 French Horn Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 225m.
An alternative route will be via B197 French Horn Lane, B6426 Queensway and Link Drive.
2. that length of Link Drive, Hatfield from its junction with Old Rectory Drive north westwards for a distance of approximately 70m.
An alternative route will be via Old Rectory Drive, B197 French Horn Lane, B6426 Queensway and Link Drive.
3. that length of Howe Dell, Hatfield from its junction with Old Rectory Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Overfield Close, Hatfield from its junction with Old Rectory Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 17m.

5. that length of Breaks Road, Hatfield from its junction with Link Drive north eastwards for a distance of approximately 17m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because resurfacing works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURY LANE, CODICOTE) ORDER NO.3 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Bury Lane, Codicote from its junction with Nup End south westwards for a distance of approximately 960m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Nup End, Park Lane, Station Approach, Station Road, B197 (London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road), B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street) and Bury Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LOWER MARDLEY HILL, OAKLANDS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lower Mardley Hill, Oaklands from its southernmost junction with B197 Mardley Hill north eastwards and northwards for a distance of approximately 312m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via B197 (Mardley Hill/London Road), Mardleybury Road, White Horse Lane and Robbery Bottom Lane.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROBBERY BOTTOM LANE, OAKLANDS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of
Robbery Bottom Lane, Oaklands from a point 53m north east of its junction with Broom Hill north
eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Robbery Bottom Lane, Lower Mardley Hill, B197 (Mardley Hill/
London Road), Mardleybury Road, White Horse Lane and Robbery Bottom Lane.
The Order is needed because vegetation and bridge works are proposed to be executed near
the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURY LANE, CODICOTE) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bury Lane, Codicote from its junction with B656 High Street north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Valley Road, a distance of approximately 197m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via B656 (High Street/Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road), Station Road, Station Approach, Park Lane, Nup End and Bury Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
