BOURNEMOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL

(AIR FESTIVAL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control vehicle movement and waiting. The effect of the order (available to view at https://roadworks.org?139501019) will be to prohibit vehicles proceeding on the roads detailed in Schedule A; to prohibit waiting and loading/unloading on the roads detailed in Schedule B1; to prohibit waiting and loading/unloading in the car parks detailed in Schedule B2; to allow limited waiting on those roads detailed in Schedule C; to prohibit vehicles proceeding on the roads detailed in Schedule D; in any direction other than that specified in Schedule E; to manually regulate those junctions detailed in Schedule F; and to prohibit cycling and electric bikes/scooters in those areas detailed in Schedule G.

It is anticipated that the above restrictions will be required from 27/08/2024 to 02/09/2024. Access to property will remain. This Order will become operative from 27/08/2024.

SCHEDULE A – PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC (ROAD CLOSURES)

0800 Wed 28/08/2023 to 2200 Mon 02/09/2023

* except for disabled badge holders accessing the designated Air Festival disabled car parks.

** closures scheduled 29/08/24 to 31/08/24 between 1300 and 2200 (2300 on Fri 30/08/2024 and Sat 31/08/2024 but with the ability to close the road 24 hours is available if deemed necessary).

SCHEDULE B1 – PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING/UNLOADING (NO PARKING)

SCHEDULE B2 – PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING/UNLOADING (CLOSURE OF CAR PARKS)

From 2359 Wed 28/08/2024 to 2359 Sat 31/08/2024 the following Car Parks will be closed to all vehicles – apart from those vehicles that have pre-booked a ‘Premiums Parking’ space (and can show evidence of this)

All approaches to the following junctions will be manually controlled when necessary to facilitate the movement of traffic:

• St Peter’s Roundabout
• Durley Roundabout
• Bath Hill Roundabout
• St Michael’s Roundabout
• The BIC Roundabout
• Bournemouth West Roundabout

SCHEDULE G – PROHIBITION OF CYCLING AND THE USE OF ELECTRIC BIKES/SCOOTERS

From Thurs 29/08/24 to Mon 02/09/2024 between 1000 and 2300, Bicycles and Electric Bikes/Scooters are prohibited from riding on:

• All sections of the promenade, within the Bournemouth boundary, including Undercliff Drive (between Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier) and Pier Approach.
• Russell Cotes Road (entire length) from its junction with Bath Road, to the point at which it joins East Overcliff Drive.
• East Overcliff Drive (entire length) to the point at which it joins Manor Road.
• East Cliff Slope, from its junction with Russell Cotes Road to Pier Approach.
• Bournemouth Lower Gardens.
