(CLOSURE OF NORTHBOUND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ALONG BURDON ROAD SUNDERLAND)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 5th August 2024 an Order was made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit northbound vehicular traffic along Burdon Road, from its roundabout with Mill Hill Road for a distance of 140 metres in north-easterly direction. The Order is required to facilitate sewer repair works on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 19th August 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated that the closure will be in operation for approximately two weeks from commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the above road (except vehicles involved in the works) until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Alternative routes will be provided via adjacent highway network.
