Anderton Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HALLIWELL STREET AND ANDERTON STREET, CHORLEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF "THE BOROUGH OF CHORLEY, ANDERTON STREET, CHORLEY)(ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 1983") ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Halliwell Street, Chorley from Market Street, Chorley to the Eastern boundary of property number 25.
AND FURTHER, the one-way order named "The Borough of Chorley, Anderton Street, Chorley)(One-way Traffic) Order 1983" is temporarily suspended.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours until 1500 hours on Monday 29th July 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Market Street, Chorley – Anderton Street, Chorley – Halliwell Place,
Chorley and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow sewer lining works to be carried out by Sapphire Utility Solutions on behalf of United Utilities.
