Wish Road, Eastbourne / Pevensey Road, Polegate - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U2061 Wish Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wish Road – from the junction with U2060 Hardwick Road to the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2060 Hardwick Road – U2056 Blackwater Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 20 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2247 Pevensey Road, Polegate)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Pevensey Road – from the junction with U7759 Aberdale Road to the junction with B2247 Dittons Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2247 Dittons Road – A22 Dittons Road roundabout, Golden Jubilee Way – A27 Dittons Road roundabout, Polegate bypass, Cop Hall roundabout – B2247 Hailsham Road, Station Road, Pevensey Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 5 August and 18 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
