What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

A262 SISSINGHURST ROAD, BIDDENDEN - BIDDENDEN TRACTORFEST 2024 (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow the Biddenden Tractorfest Event 2024 to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction of part of A262 Sissinghurst Road, Biddenden on or after 17th August 2024, with estimated completion by 18th August 2024, between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00, or until the event has been completed.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of A262 Sissinghurst Road will be imposed from the junction with Ongley Road to the junction with Hareplain Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

CANTERBURY ROAD, BRABOURNE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Brabourne, from 12th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 14.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction of Manor Pound Lane and the junction with School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Canterbury Road, Plain Road, Stone Hill, Southenay Lane, A20 Main Road, Swan Lane, Lourdes Manor Close, Blind House Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Pilgrims Way, Whiteways, Scots Lane, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

CHURCH LANE, ALDINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Aldington, on or after 14th August 2024, with estimated completion by 26th August 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the National Grid Substation, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A20 Hythe Road, Station Road, Evegate Mill Lane, Goldwell Lane, Roman Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

EBONY ROAD, TENTERDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow apparatus repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ebony Road, Tenterden, on or after 13th August 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cherry Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Rose Hill, Stocks Road, Pound Lane, Acton Lane, Ebony Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

GIGGERS GREEN ROAD, ALDINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Giggers Green Road, Aldington, from 12th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with The Street to the junction with Knoll Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2067 Bonnington Road, Newchurch Road, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Honey Wood Lane, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, From Newchurch Town Boundary To Eastbridge Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HAREPLAIN ROAD, BIDDENDEN, TN27 8LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hareplain Road, Biddenden, on or after 13th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Three Chimneys’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hareplain Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 High Street, A274 North Street, A274 Headcorn Road, Frittenden Road, Hareplain Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

PLUCKLEY ROAD, HOTHFIELD. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Hothfield, on or after 12th August 2024, for up to 11 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Dowle Street Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Pluckley Road, Bethersden Road, Sparrow Hatch Lane, Dowle Street Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

SACKVILLE CRESCENT, ASHFORD, TN23 1LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF NO ENTRY) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sackville Crescent, Ashford, on or after 12th August 2024, for up to 19 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Western Avenue and number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The No Entry Order on Sackville Crescent will be suspended between Kings Avenue and Carlton Avenue for the duration of the works.

The alternative route is via West Street, Forge Lane, New Street, Chart Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, Templer Way, Chart Road Roundabout, Carlton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

SHEEPFOLD LANE, KINGSNORTH, TN23 3LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sheepfold Lane, Kingsnorth, from 29th August 2024, with estimated completion by 30th August 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Bluebell Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

These works are in conjunction with two-way lights on Bluebell Road at the junction with Sheepfold Lane.

The alternative route is via Bluebell Road, Moat Field Meadow, Roman Way and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

OXENTURN ROAD, WYE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Oxenturn Road, Wye, from 29th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘The Hermitage’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Oxenturn Road, Upper Bridge Street, High Street, Churchfield Way, Bridge Street, Bramble Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, A2070 Willesborough Road, A2070 Kennington Road, A20 Hythe Road, Honeysuckle Avenue, Hinxhill Road, Naccolt Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

ULLEY ROAD, KENNINGTON, TN24 9PN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ulley Road, Kennington, from 12th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with A2042 Faversham Road and the junction with Upper Vicarage Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Upper Vicarage Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

WATERY LANE, ASHFORD. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Watery Lane, Ashford, from 22.00 hours on 13th August 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 14th August 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A20 Maidstone Road, Westwell Lane, Watery Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
