What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC139518830: The City of Manchester (Deansgate, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict traffic on Deansgate between Quay Street/Peter Street and Liverpool Road/Great Bridgewater Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Quay Street, Trinity Way, Water Street, Liverpool Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate resurfacing of the carriageway. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 6th August 2024 to 9th August 2024 between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 each shift. The order shall come into operation on 6th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC000139575233: The City of Manchester (Various Streets, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict Waiting & Loading on Gartside Street, Left Bank, New College Street, Water Street and Young Street as per the new road markings on site. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate proposed new road retrictions. It is expected that the order will be in progress from 6th August 2024 to 5th February 2026. The order shall come into operation on 6th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
