Wharf Road, Stanford Le Hope - Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Resurfacing Works.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Wharf Road - Stanford Le Hope
(Temporary prohibition or restriction on roads)
No. 133 - Order 2024
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to: -
• Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Wharf Road between its junctions with Corringham Road and Salisbury Avenue.
• Prohibit any vehicles from parking At Any Time along the eastern and western kerb lines of Wharf Road between its junctions with Corringham Road and Salisbury Road.
• Temporarily revoke the eastbound only travel on Copland Road.
• Temporarily revoke the northeast bound only travel on Rectory Road.
• Temporarily revoke the southwest bound only travel on Hadfield Road.
• Prohibit any vehicles from travelling along Wharf Road from its junction with Copland Road for a distance of approx. 342m in a southerly direction.
• Prohibit any vehicles from parking At Any Time along the eastern and western kerb lines of Wharf Road from its junction with Copland Road for a distance of approx. 342m in a southerly direction.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.
3) The Order will come into force on Sunday 11th August 2024 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place Sunday 11th August and again on Sunday 18th August between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will be always specified on https://one.network/? tmi=GB32776899. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4) The alternative route for southbound vehicles will be Corringham Road eastbound, and Copland Road and vice versa for northbound vehicles. The alternative route to Rectory Road will be the diversion above and then Hadfield Road, Fairview Avenue and Rectory Road and vice versa. The works will be completed in two phases, with no alternative route available for the second phase, however access will maintained residents.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
