Uttlesford - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Works.
What is happening?

(Bridge Street, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bridge Street, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Castle Street to its junction with New Pond Lane a distance of approximately 210m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th August 2024 for 1 night (20:00-23:59), or where stated on a valid permit (AD02663582310 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while jetting of the sewer lines works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Cambridge Road, London Road, High Street, Cambridge Road, London Road, Newmarket Road, Walden Road Roundabout East and vice versa (with access only into Walden Road (Great Chesterford), Springwell Road, Windmill Hill, High Street (Saffron Walden), London Road (Saffron Walden), Newport Road and Sparrowsend Hill).
The Order will come into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Rookery Lane, Wendens Ambo)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rookery Lane, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 315m south east of its junction with Duck Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th August 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06057872/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water supply works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Cambridge Road, Mutlow Hill, London Road, Station Road, Royston Road and vice versa (access only into Duck Street, Rookery Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Strethall Road, Littlebury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Strethall Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 450m south west of its junction with Peggys Walk for a distance of approximately 210m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2024 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGMVW0NZ - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Strethall Road, Littlebury Green Road, London Road, Station Road, Royston Road, Littlebury Green Road, Strethall Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cole End Lane, Wimbish/Sewards End)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cole End Lane, Wimbish/Sewards End in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction with Thaxted Road to the junction with Walden Road a distance of approximately 2600m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th August 2024 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231011182 -Low Carbon). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while completion of new solar farm works are undertaken by Low Carbon.
An alternative route is available via Walden Road, Radwinter Road, Thaxted Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 25th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Linton Road, Hadstock)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Linton Road, Hadstock in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 55m north west of its junction with Bartlow Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2024 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001349876 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via East Street, Audley Road, High Street, Bridge Street, Windmill Hill, Springwell Road, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout East, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout West, Walden Road, Connecting Road To Roundabout For B1383 and B184, Cambridge Road, M11, Cambridge Road or Cambridge Road, M11, Cambridge Road, Connecting Road To Roundabout For B1383 and B184, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout West, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout East, Walden Road, Springwell Road, Windmill Hill, Bridge Street, High Street, George Street and Hill Street (with access only into The Grip (B1052), Hadstock Road, Linton Road, Walden Road (Hadstock), Hadstock Road, Little Walden Road, Castle Hill and Common Hill).
The Order came into effect on 25th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Monk Street, Thaxted)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Monk Street, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 180m south of its junction with Folly Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th August 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001344984 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Dunmow Road, Monk Street and vice versa (with access only into Monk Street).
The Order came into effect on 25th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
