South Shore Road Gateshead - Temporary Traffic Regulation Order To Allow Mobile Elevated Platform Works
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(SOUTH SHORE ROAD GATESHEAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead propose to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along South Shore Road Gateshead from a point 130 metres west of its junction with Mill Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 25 metres. The Order is required to allow mobile elevated platform works to be carried out in the highway. The Order will come into force on the 19 August 2024. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however the works are expected to be completed on the 21 August 2024. The prohibition will be in place overnight between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 on each operative day. During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above roads until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place
