The East Sussex (Public Footpath Herstmonceux 33a (part))
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024
To protect public safety during the installation of a foul water sewer and drainage channel, the formation of a swale and pond and the construction of outfall pipework and associated works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Herstmonceux 33a will be closed to all users between TQ 6453 1222 (Windmill Hill Road) and TQ 6455 1209 for a distance of 170 metres. Unfortunately, an alternative route is not available.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 12 August 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (A22 Uckfield Bypass & B2102 Bell Farm Road, Uckfield)
(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
To allow Walkers Construction UK Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Uckfield Bypass – from the River Uck Bridge for a distance of approximately 670 metres in a northerly direction.
Bell Farm Road – from the A22 Copwood roundabout to the junction with U7762 Brookside.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow Cheesmur Building Contractors to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Rotten Row – from the junction with U5119 St Pancras Road to Stream Edge.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Laundry Lane – from the junction with C208 Horebeech Lane to the junction with C595 Vines Cross Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C208 Horebeech Lane – A267 High Street – B2203 High Street – C595 Vines Cross Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 8 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C33 London Road/High Street, Maresfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
London Road/High Street – from the junction with A26 Uckfield bypass to the junction with C34 Batts Bridge Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C34 Batts Bridge Road – A22 Maresfield bypass – A26 Uckfield bypass and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 5 and 23 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

School Lane/Hoadleys Lane – from the junction with C11 London Road to the junction with U7474 St Johns Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 London Road – U7475 Ghyll Road – U7474 St Johns Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 13 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 5 August and 2 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which
will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Picketts Lane – from the junction with A22 Horney Common Road to the junction with C9 Down Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C9 Down Street, Nether Lane – A22 High Street, Fords Green Road, Courtlands Road, Horney Common Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Blackboys Road – from the junction with U7507 Gatehouse Lane to the junction with U7404 Pump Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2102 The Street, Hammonds Green, Bird In Eye Hill, Framfield Road, New Town, High Street, Bell Farm Road – A22 Uckfield bypass, Eastbourne Road – B2192 Heathfield Road, Lewes Road – B2102 High Street, Framfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 21:30hrs to 06:00hrs between 5 and 7 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A267 New North Street/North Street, Hellingly)
(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-

The East Sussex (B2123 The Drove, Village Way, Ridge Road, Park Street, Park Street North, South Street, East Street, Middle Street and Mill Street, Falmer)
(Prohibition of Waiting and Prohibition of Driving) Traffic Regulation Order 2013
The following dates below will have the above Order restrictions imposed on the roads as listed from 4 hours before the commencement of the events held at The American Express Community Stadium and until up to 2 hours after the event has finished;
Park Street, South Street, East Street (Falmer Village South) in their entirety; Mill Street, Park Street North, Middle Street (Falmer Village North) in their entirety; and Ridge Road (Falmer Village North) from its junction with Middle Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 120 metres to its junction with Mill Street. Access for residents on these roads will not be affected.

Barcombe Village Hall, Barcombe Mills Road, Barcombe, Lewes BN8 5BH On 10/09/2024 at 10.00 am
To hold a public local inquiry into the Order
The effect of the Order, if confirmed without modifications, will be to add a public footpath as follows:
A route comprising a public footpath with an arbitrary centreline route, as detailed below, and as shown on the Order Plan between points A-B; B-C; C-0-E-F; F-G-HI; F-J-K.
The public footpath commences from the southern side of Pikes Bridge where the extent of the public adopted highway ends, in the civil parish of Ringmer at point A, at TQ 4335 1472.
From point A it continues in a generally northerly direction over a flat bridge (Pikes Bridge), for 4 metres, crossing into the civil parish of Barcombe about half-way across the bridge at point Bat TQ 4335 1473.
From point B, the footpath continues in a generally northerly direction for 43 metres to point C (where it meets Barcombe 24) at TQ 4335 1477.
From point C it continues in the generally northerly direction for 68 metres, crossing a humped bridge and a weir to a point near a sluice at point D at TQ 4335 1483. From point D, the route continues in a generally westerly direction for 40 metres to point Eat TQ 4331 1484.
From point E, the route continues in a generally northerly direction for 65 metres, crossing over a flat bridge (toll bridge), and a further flat bridge, to point Fat TQ 4331 1490.
From point F, it continues in a generally north north-westerly direction for 67 metres to point G at TQ 4329 1497.
From point G the route continues in a generally northerly direction for 20 metres to a point H at TQ 4329 1496.
From point H it continues in a generally north-easterly direction for 13 metres until it reaches the point where public footpath Barcombe 26 and public restricted byway Barcombe 25a join each other, at point I at TQ 4330 1497.
At point F, at TQ 4331 1490 it also continues in a generally westerly direction for 90 metres along part of what is known as Hayes Lane, until it reaches point J at TQ 4322 1490.
At point J the route continues in a generally west by north direction for 170 metres along the rest of Hayes Lane, until it reaches Barcombe Mills Road at point Kat TQ 4305 1493.
The width of the public footpath between TQ 4335 1472 and TQ 4335 1473 will be a varying width of between 3 and 4 metres. The width of the public footpath between TQ 4335 1473 and TQ 4335 1477 will be a varying width of between 4 and 5 metres. The width of the public footpath between TQ 4331 1490 and TQ 4330 1497 will be a varying width of between 2 and 5 metres. The width of the public footpath between TQ 4331 1490 and TQ 4307 1493 will be a varying width of between 3 and 4 metres. The width of the public footpath between TQ 4307 1493 and TQ 4305 1493 will be 2 metres.
The total length of the public footpath to be added is 580 metres.
