What is happening?

(Carriageway Surfacing Programme)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024 NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime on the following roads throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated. This Order will also introduce a temporary 30mph speed limit on major ‘A’ class roads and a temporary 20mph speed limit on minor and non-classified roads: Billingshurst: B2133 Adversane Lane, between Stane Street and Marringdean Road;
Billingshurst & Itchingfield: Bashurst Hill/West Chiltington Lane, between A264 Five Oaks Road and A272 Broadford Bridge;
Coldwaltham & Pulborough: A29 London Road, between Waters Lane and Lower Street;
Rusper: Charlwood Road, between Ifield Green and the Surrey County Boundary;
Steyning: Horsham Road, between the A283 and Mouse Lane;
Steyning & Washington: A283, between Castle Lane roundabout junction and Water Lane;
These road closures are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2024/25 highway surfacing programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days. Reduced speed limits may be required during the works and between phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.
The Order will come into effect on 1 August 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.
During the works alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(North Horsham & Rusper: Public Footpath No. 1586)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 1586 from its southern end at its junction with Bartholomew Way (5159414, 133113), northwards across the A264, then eastwards to its junction with Public Bridleway No 1585 (also known as Bush Lane) (519985, 133613), a distance of approximately 828 metres.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety as the Public Footpath is within the works area for highway construction works taking place on the A264.
Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available using the Public Rights of Way network.
The Order will come into effect on 6 August 2024 and will last for 6 months.

(Rudgwick: Hillhouse Lane)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, WSCC intend to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along Hillhouse Lane between the A281 and Cooks Hill.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst water mains renewal works are undertaken.
The Order will come into effect on 19 August 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 19 August 2024 and will 5 weeks.
