What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS) (DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY)
(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT No.2) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the Order will be to change the traffic movements on the following length of roads in Herne Bay, District of Canterbury:-

CENTRAL PARADE – (1) Revoke the one way from its junction with Lane End and Pier Avenue and allow two-way traffic. (2) Revoke the prohibition of motor vehicles from its junction with Pier Avenue and Station Road. MORTIMER STREET – Revoke the banned left hand turn into Richmond Street. RICHMOND STREET – (1) Revoke the one way from its junction with Central Parade to a point 10 metres north of its junction with High Street and allow two-way traffic. (2) Place one way from its junction with High Street for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction (except cycles). STATION ROAD – Revoke the banned left hand turn into Central Parade. TELFORD STREET – Revoke the banned right hand turn into Richmond Street.

The Order was made on 8 August 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 9 August 2024.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2023 (AMENDMENT No.5) ORDER 2024

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL under sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 3 (2), 4 (1) and (2), 32 (1), 35 (1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the made named Order will amend the existing waiting restrictions on the following length of road (in this part of the notice DYL’s means double yellow lines) waiting to be prohibited at any time;

Roads in Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury

CENTRAL PARADE – On the northern side between Station Road and Pier Avenue place 10 Pay and Display bays No Caravans 8.30am-6pm 1 April and 30 September Max Stay 4 hours with Limited Waiting No Caravans 8.30am-6pm between 1 October and 31 March 4hrs with no return for 4 hours and Residents Permit Holders Only Herne Bay 8.30am-6.30pm outside the entrance to the Pier. Also place 3 Disabled Persons Parking Bays outside the entrance to the Pier. (3) On the southern side between Station Road and Pier Avenue place 1 Bus Drop Off and Pick Up Bay outside the entrance to the Pier.

The Order was made on 8 August 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 9 August 2024.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER) (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022
(AMENDMENT No.8) ORDER 2024

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order.

The effect of the order will be to implement the speed limit of 50MPH on the following length of roads in Eastry, Dover:-

A256 EASTRY BYPASS – From the roundabout with Dover Road, Cater Road and A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 150 metres in a northeasterly direction. A256 WHITFIELD BYPASS – From its junction with Dover Road for a distance of 850 metres in a south westerly direction. DOVER ROAD – From its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 85 metres in a northerly direction. STRAIGHT MILE – From its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 35 metres in an easterly direction. VENSON ROAD – From its junction with the A256 Whitfield Bypass for a distance of 35 metres in a westerly direction.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT No.9) ORDER 2022

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the made Order will be to introduce or amend existing waiting restrictions (DYL means double yellow lines “no waiting at any time” restrictions) in the following length of roads:-

Roads in New Romney in the District of Folkestone & Hythe

ASHFORD ROAD – DYL – On the northeast side from its junction with Cockreed Lane for a distance of 60 metres in a southerly direction. COCKREED LANE – DYL – (1) On the southeast side from its junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 20 metres in a northerly then easterly direction. (2) On the southeast side from a point opposite and in line with the boundary of Stonewall and Hulbury, Cockreed Lane to the junction with Lemanis Close. (3) On the south side from the junction with Lemanis Close for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction. (4) On the northwest side from a point in line with the eastern boundary of 3 Hope Villas for a distance of 38 metres in a westerly direction. LEMANIS CLOSE – DYL – On both sides of the junction with Cockreed Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a southerly direction.

The Order was made on 8 August 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 9 August 2024.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), intends to install pedestrian crossings of the types described in column 1 of Schedule 1 hereto, at the locations described in column 2 of the said Schedule.

A plan showing the location of the proposed toucan crossing may be inspected during normal office hours at Kent Highways & Transportation, Kroner House, Eurogate Business Park, Ashford, Kent TN24 8XU by appointment booked through east.highwayimprovments@kent.gov.uk from the 9 August 2024 or viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/highwaysconsultations until 12 noon on Monday 2 September 2024. If you require further information on the proposed scheme, please contact Kent Highways and Transportation at the above address or at east.highwayimprovments@kent.gov.uk quoting scheme ref: 22-FH-AC-371. Works will commence during the summer holidays 2024. The existing bus stop clearway and School Keep Clear markings will be removed and replaced with restrictions as required.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL under sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 3 (2), 4 (1) and (2), 32 (1), 35 (1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the made named Order will introduce or amend existing waiting restrictions on the following lengths of road (in this part of the notice DYL’s means double yellow lines) waiting to be prohibited at any time

Roads in Harrietsham in the Borough of Maidstone

STATION ROAD – DYL – On both sides of the junction with West Street for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction. WEST STREET – DYL – (1) On north side from its eastern kerbline with Station Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the south side from a point opposite and 10 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Station Road for a distance of 20 metres in a westerly direction.

The Order was made on 8 August 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 9 August 2024.
