Barford St Michael / Banbury / Nethercote - Temporary Traffic Orders & Speed Limits
What is happening?

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Barford St Michael, Murreys Lane
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 29/07/2024
Coming into force: 05/08/2024
This Order is being introduced because of electrical cable diversion and reinforcement works which are anticipated to take until 1 September to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Murreys Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Church Street, Lower Street and Vice Versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13949/RMF)

Banbury, Warwick Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 12/08/2024
Coming into force: 20/08/2024
This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works which are anticipated to take until 12/9/2024 to complete working 8pm to 6am.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in that part of Warwick Road between the roundabout with Orchard Way/Parklands and the traffic light junction with Castle Street. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Ruscote Avenue, Southam Road and Vice Versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13831 RMF)

(BANBURY AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that on 29 July 2024 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 5 August introduces a 20mph speed limit on Blacklocks Hill in Nethercote – replacing the 60mph National speed limit, from a point 300 metres north of its junction with Overthorpe Road northwards to the one-way restriction at the Northamptonshire District boundary.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Banbury Area) (Speed Limits – No.3) Order 2022 is revoked/replaced.

(BARFORD ST JOHN & ST MICHAEL PARISH)
(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that on 29 July 2024 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 5 August introduces a 20mph speed limit within Barford St John & Barford St Michael, replacing the majority of the 30mph speed limits in the process, leading out to the following points:
A. Barford St John
1. Bloxham Road:
a. Northern end – a point 140 metres north of Mead Road,
b. Southern end – a point 62 metres south of Mead Road.
B. Barford St Michael
2. Netherworton Road – a point 106 metres south of Townsend,
3. South Newington Road – a point 160 metres west of Church Street,
4. Hempton Road – a point 93 metres south-east of Townsend,
5. Bloxham Road – a point 105 metres north of Lower Street.
Additionally 30mph speed limits are also made on the Bloxham Road as follows: a) between the two 20mph speed limits proposed for each settlement, and b) leading northwards from Barford St John for 170 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Barford St John & St Michael Parish) (Speed Limit) Order 2003 is revoked/replaced as necessary.
