What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC138955631: The City of Manchester (Houldsworth Street & Faraday Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Houldsworth Street from Lever Street to Little Lever Street & on Faraday Street from Lever Street to Little Lever Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Lever Street, Great Ancoats Street, Newton Street & Faraday Street, Newton Street, Back Piccadilly, Lever Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate safe setup & use of MEWP & allow for safety drop zone. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 3rd August 2024 and 25th August 2024. The Order shall come into operation on the 3rd August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order:
ORDER NO. MCC139525657: The City of Manchester (Elizabeth Street, Cheetham Ward)(Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Elizabeth Street One Way from Queens Road to Cheetham Hill Road(permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Cheetham Hill Road, Queens Road. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to Excavate joint bay with approximately 110 metres of track in the footway and carriageway to install and joint cable for new connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 5th August 2024 to 13th August 2024. The Order shall come into operation on 5th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
