(TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic on the following sections of roads and footways in Ashington in the County of Northumberland:-
Road Closure:
U6531 Juliet Street from its point outside of house number 99 Juliet Street heading south for a distance of 20 metres.
U6531 Juliet Street Ariel Street Back Lane from its junction with Juliet Street Ariel Street heading westwards for a distance of 25 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Alexandra Road, Second Avenue, Juliet Street and vice versa.
Footway Closure:
U6531 Juliet Street Ariel Street Back Lane from its point at the gable end of house number 82 Juliet Street heading east for a distance of 25 metres.
U6531 Juliet Street from its point at the gable end of house number 82 Juliet Street heading south for a distance of 10 metres.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via Third Avenue, Juliet Street Ariel Street and vice versa.
The Order is to be effective from the 9th August 2024 until the 13th September 2024.
It is expected that the roads and footways will only be closed from the 9th August 2024 until the 30th August 2024 and that they will be closed at all times during this period however, the order will remain in place until 13th September 2024.

The closures have been requested by Northern Gas Networks to carryout mains gas replacement works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
