What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BYWAYS OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC BT1201116 & BT1201118 BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Byways Open to all Traffic indicated below:-
Byway Open to all Traffic BT1201116 Burnley, Burnley Borough, from The Avenue at Point A (SD 8576 – 3117) in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 1,100 metres to Point B (SD 8653 – 3198).(also Known as Deer Park Road).
Byway Open to all Traffic BT1201118 Burnley, Burnley Borough, from Point C (SD 8646 – 3190 ) in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 150 metres to Point D (SD 8638 – 3203) and then continuing from Point D (SD 8638 – 3203) in a general north easterly direction for approximately 70 metres to Point E (SD 8643 – 3206) (also known as Springwood Road).
The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the routes.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the Byways Open to all Traffic, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the Byways Open to all Traffic, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works
The Order will be operative from the 5th August, 2024, for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed within this period.
