What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HIGH STREET, EAST MARKHAM; NORTHUMBERLAND
AVENUE, CARLTON-IN-LINDRICK; FARM VIEW,
DALE CLOSE AND RIVER VIEW, RETFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PROCEEDING)
ORDER 2024 (BS24-180)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at East Markham, Retford and Carlton-in-Lindrick in the District of Bassetlaw
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. HIGH STREET, EAST MARKHAM – At its crossroad junction with Askham Road
b. FARM VIEW, RETFORD – From its junction with Bank Side and High Street
c. DALE CLOSE, RETFORD – From its junction with Farm View for its entire length
d. RIVER VIEW, RETFORD – From its junction with Farm View to Hill View
e. NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE, CARLTON-IN-LINDRICK – From its junction with Rotherham Baulk in a northerly direction for 70 metres
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. HIGH STREET, EAST MARKHAM – At its crossroad junction with Askham Road
b. FARM VIEW, RETFORD – From its junction with Bank Side and High Street
c. DALE CLOSE, RETFORD – From its junction with Farm View for its entire length
d. RIVER VIEW, RETFORD – From its junction with Farm View to Hill View
e. NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE, CARLTON-IN-LINDRICK – From its junction with Rotherham Baulk in a northerly direction for 70 metres
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
HIGH STREET, EAST MARKHAM – Friday 2nd August 2024
FARM VIEW, RETFORD – Tuesday 6th until Tuesday 13th August 2024
DALE CLOSE, RETFORD – Thursday 22nd until 23rd August 2024
RIVER VIEW, RETFORD - Tuesday 27th until Thursday 29th August 2024
NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE, CARLTON IN LINDRICK – Friday 30th August
From 08:00 hours until 15:30 hours only
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
HIGH STREET, EAST MARKHAM – High Street – Cliff Gate – Markham Moor A1 Bridge – Sibthorpe Hill – Great North Road – Retford Road – Markham Road – Tuxford Road – Beckland Hill – Farm Lane – High Street and vice versa
FARM VIEW, RETFORD – No diversion available
DALE CLOSE, RETFORD – No diversion available
RIVER VIEW, RETFORD – River View – Hillview – Bank Side – Farm View – River View and vice versa
NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE, CARLTON IN LINDRICK – Northumberland Avenue – Rotherham Baulk – Doncaster Road – Lawn Road – Northumberland Avenue and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 2nd August 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway patching works
