What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
RIBBLETON LANE, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF FOOT WAY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any pedestrian or cycle from proceeding over the following lengths of footway.
i. Ribbleton Lane, Preston from its junction with Ribbleton Street to its junction with St Mary's Street North for the length of HMP Preston's brick walls.
An alternative route for all affected by the closure will be signed locally.
The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 5th August 2024 until 1600 hours on Monday 18th November 2024.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow brick pointing and repairs to external brick walls outside HMP Preston to be carried out.
