What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

(SPEED LIMIT) (NO 1) ORDER 2024

GAINSBOROUGH ESTATE, STANLEY

The Council of the City of Wakefield has made the above order under its powers in the Road Traffic Act 1984, the effect of which, in relation to roads at Stanley, will be to:

Introduce a 20mph speed limit along the following roads:-

•  Byron Grove  

• Longfellow Grove

•  Chaucer Avenue        

• Milton Court

•  Colley Gardens          

• Newlands Drive

•  Constable Grove        

• Newlands Walk

•  Croxhall Drive            

• Noon Close

•  Firth Close                 

• Rae Court

•  Gainsborough Way    

• Samuel Drive

•  Hargreaves Avenue

• Stanmoor Drive

•  Haydn Avenue  

• Tennyson Avenue

•  Keats Grove

The Order coms into force on 5th August 2024 and a copy of the Speed Limit Order, together with a map showing the affected road and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested via email trafficregs@ wakefield.gov.uk or you can view a copy on the website www.wakefield.gov.uk/tro

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Order was made (ie. 29th July 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose).
