What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(POTTERS BROOK, BAY HORSE, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian to proceed over that length of Potters Brook, Bay Horse from the junction facing Burton Farm for a distance of approximately 45 metres towards the junction with Main Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Wednesday 14th August 2024 until 15:15 hours on Tuesday 20th August 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. No Access will be maintained. These works are safety critical for the protection of the public, it has been assessed and this area must be made safe before allowing access to the public.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Potters Brook – A6 Main Road – Cokerham Road – Potters Brook and Vice Versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow works to rebuild bridge parapet be carried out.
