What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
A697 WOOPERTON JUNCTION TO WOOLER, WOOLER
(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intend to make an Order which will restrict the speed of all vehicular traffic on the A697 Wooperton Junction to Wooler, Wooler as shown below in the County of Northumberland :-
Restriction of speed from 60mph to 40mph, 80 metres south of the junction with Ilderton Berwick Borough footpath heading in a northerly direction for a length of 320 metres; and
Restriction of speed from 60mph to 30mph, 77 metres south of the junction with the Wooler Berwick Borough footpath 048 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 1,168 metres; and
Restriction of speed from 60mph to 40mph, from the north entrance to Haugh Head Garage and shop heading in a northerly direction for a length of 369 metres.
This Notice is to be effective on the 26th August 2024 between 07:00 hours and 19:00 hours.
There is no alternative route available as this is a speed restriction only.

The Order has been requested by Northumberland County Council and is being made due to the likelihood of danger to the public whilst vehicular traffic is entering and exiting The Glendale Show Event which is scheduled to take place on the 26th August 2024.
