TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
EXTENSION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by
City of Doncaster Council on the 25th day of January 2024
which came into force on the 3rd day of February 2024 has
been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of
State for Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the
2nd day of February 2025. The Order would otherwise have
expired on the 3rd day of August 2024.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public and
the workforce and facilitate the completion of Environment
Agency (EA) emergency works in the immediate area,
following damage to existing flood defence assets.
Reason for the extension of the temporary order is that these
works are essential to maintain the current standard of flood
protection and repair assets which were impacted during
recent heavy rainfall. The EA’s contractor has undertaken
remedial works to flood risk management assets through the
1st half of 2024 and reinstated the site. However, vegetation
is yet to re-establish along the repaired earth embankment. To
allow for grassland to establish following re-seeding, an
extended closure is requested to avoid damage of the
repaired flood defence assets prior to the re-establishment of
said grassland.
NOTICE is also given that there is no alternative route for
pedestrians, equestrians and/or cyclists affected by the Order.
For further information telephone Rights of Way on 01302

The order will continue in force up to and including the 2nd
day of February 2025 or until the works which it is proposed
to carry out in the said footpaths/bridleway have been
completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not
completed within the time stated the Order may be further
extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for
Transport. (PO566)
