What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VICARAGE ROAD, POULTON LE FYLDE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Vicarage Road, Poulton le Fylde from its junction with Station Road for approximately 125 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Thursday 8th August 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic (except HGVs) affected by the closure is via:
Station Road – Victoria Road – Breck Road
Diversion Route for HGVs is via: Station Road – Lower Green – Garstang Road West – Blackpool Old Road – Queen Square – Chapel Street – Breck Road – Victoria Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new telegraph pole works to be carried out by BT Openreach.
