What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC QUAY ROAD
LEVEL CROSSING, BRIDLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Quay
Road Level Crossing, Bridlington and 20 metres either
side of the level crossing commencing 1 September
2024 at 00.01 hours until 08.30 hours to allow for
road marking renewals and defect inspection works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within nine hours. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via Quay Road,
Quay Road Roundabout, Station Avenue, Station Road,
Hilderthorpe Road, Springfield Avenue, Bridlington CP,
Bridlington South Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all through traffic, but access will be maintained at all
time for residents, emergency services and pedestrians.
