Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Abnormal Loads.

PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND SUSPENSION OF OVERNIGHT

7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART

OF VARIOUS ROADS, IPSWICH AND VARIOUS PARISHES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following lengths of road on the dates and times set out in this notice:

• A140 Norwich Road, Coddenham from the A14 roundabout to Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary
• A140 Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary
• A140 Norwich Road, Earl Stonham
• A140 Angel Hill, Earl Stonham

This is to facilitate the safe transportation of abnormal loads between Ipswich Docks and Ipswich Road, Eye. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. From to the A1156 St Matthews Street Subway entrance, Ipswich from the west side of St Matthews Street to Civic Drive Roundabout will be closed to facilitate the erection of scaffolding and boarding for pedestrian safety when guard rails are removed to enable abnormal load movements.

• for the A140 - the A140, the A143, the A134, the A14 and vice versa
• for Tomline Road and Derby Road, Ipswich - Foxhall Road, the A1189, the A1156 and vice versa
• for the Subway Closure - St Matthews Street, Civic Drive and no vice versa.

For the duration of the road closures, there will be a suspension of double yellow lines, a prohibition of waiting and suspension of an overnight 7.5 tonne weight restriction.

It is intended that the road closure, suspension of double yellow lines, prohibition of waiting and suspension of overnight 7.5 tonnes weight restriction will operate on the following dates 11/08/2024 from 12.01am - 11.59pm and 18/08/2024 from 12.01am - 23.59pm with the exception of Cliff Road, Ipswich which will be closed from 12pm on 10/08/2024 - 11.59pm on 11/08/2024 and 12pm on 17/08/2024 - 11.59pm on 18/08/2024. The Subway closure will be closed from 11/08/2024 until 18/08/2024.
