What is happening?
SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Hayes Lane, Badminton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Hayes Lane which extends from a point 175m south of High Street southwards for 30m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon sewer renovation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 27 August 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 days duration.
Alternative route: Luckington Lane, Station Road, High Street and vice versa
(Shellards Lane, Alveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Shellards Lane which extends from a point 500m northwest of Earthcott Road north westwards for 180m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole test works
The order became operative from 5 August 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration.
Alternative route: Earthcott Road, B4059 Church Road, A38 Gloucester Road, Shellards Lane and vice versa
(Stidcot Lane, Tytherington) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Stidcot Lane which extends from Duck Street north eastwards for 285m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order will be operative from 28 August 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Alternative route: Stowell Hill Road, Tytherington Road, A38 Gloucester Road, B4509 Charfield Road, B4058 Wotton Road, Stidcot Lane and vice versa
(Middledown Road, Marshfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Middledown Road which extends from a point 590m west of Castle Lane westwards for 170m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon electricity cable installation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 27 August 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.
Alternative route: Middledown Road (parts unaffected), Gloucester Road, Chippenham Road, George Lane and vice versa
(New Road and Wickwar Road, Rangeworthy) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with flood alleviation scheme works. The order will be operative from 27 August 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 days duration.
Schedule: New Road – from Gifford Close to Wickwar Road; Wickwar Road – from New Road north eastwards for 160m.
Alternative route: Wotton Road, Manor Road, Tanhouse Lane, Limekiln Road, Wickwar Road (parts unaffected) and vice versa
(Various Footpaths in the Parishes of Aust and Pilning and Severn Beach) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 11 August 2021, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 2 February 2025 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the following public footpaths - OAU/31/20; OAU/32/30; OAU/32/40; OAU/32/50; OAU/34/20; OAU/34/30; OAU/51/10; OAU/51/20; ORN/1/10; ORN/1/20; ORN/1/30; ORN/1/40; ORN/1/50; ORN/1/60; ORN/1/70; ORN/1/80; ORN/1/70; ORN/1/100; ORN/3/10; ORN/18/10 and ORN/18/20. In addition, the following footpaths will remain open for use but will become no through routes as they will be blocked at the boundary to the ASEA site – OAU/35/20; ORN/7/10; ORN/9/10; ORN/9/20; ORN/9/30; ORN/14/10; ORN/14/20; ORN/16/10 and ORN/75/10.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon flood defence scheme works between Aust Wharf Road and New Pill Outfall on behalf of the Environment Agency ASEA Flood and would have expired on 2 August 2024.

In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
