Abbey Lane, Beaumont Leys Lane - Temporary Restrictions Due To Highway Improvement Works

THE LEICESTER (ABBEY LANE, BEAUMONT LEYS LANE) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles Beaumont Leys Lane between its junctions with Abbey Lane and with Parker Drive from 12.00am on Friday 9th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 19th August 2024.
Diversion route: Parker Drive, Blackbird Road, Abbey Lane. Diversion route: Abbey Lane, Red Hill Circle, Red Hill Way, Beaumont Leys Lane.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a north-eastbound direction on Abbey Lane between its junctions with Sudley Avenue and with Orton Road from 12.00am on Friday 9th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 11th August 2024.
Diversion route: Burleys Way, Belgrave Gate, Belgrave Circle, Belgrave Road, Melton Road, Watermead Way, Abbey Lane.
Diversion route: Abbey Park Road, Belgrave Circle, Belgrave Road, Melton Road, Watermead Way, Abbey Lane
Diversion route: Blackbird Road, Parker Drive, Beaumont Leys Lane, Red Hill Way, Red Hill Circle, Abbey Lane.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a south-westbound direction on Abbey Lane between its junctions with Wade Street and with Chale Road from 12.00am on Thursday 15th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 19th August 2024.
Diversion route: Watermead Way, Melton Road, Belgrave Road, Belgrave Circle, Belgrave Gate, Burleys Way, St Margarets Way, Abbey Lane.
Diversion route: Red Hill Way, Krefeld Way, Glenfrith Way, Groby Road, Blackbird Road, Abbey Lane.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Corporation Road between its junction with Abbey Lane and with Exploration Road from 12.00am on Thursday 15th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 19th August 2024.
Diversion route: Exploration Drive, Abbey Lane.

Suspend existing one-way restriction on Beaumanor Road between its junctions with Corporation Road and with Anchor Street from 12.00am on Thursday 15th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 19th August 2024.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Beaumont Leys Lane between its junctions with Heacham Drive and with Abbey Lane from 12.00am on Thursday 22nd August 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 25th August 2024.
Diversion route: Beaumont Leys Lane, Krefeld Way, Anstey Lane, Blackbird Road, Abbey Lane.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Halifax Drive between its junctions with Billington Close and with Beaumont Leys Lane from 12.00am on Thursday 22nd August 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 25th August 2024.
Diversion route: Marwood Road, Beaumont Leys Lane, Krefeld Way, Anstey Lane, Blackbird Road, Abbey Lane. Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Parker Drive between its junctions with Norwich Road and with Beaumont Leys Lane from 12.00am on Thursday 22nd August 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 25th August 2024.
Diversion route: Blackbird Road, Abbey Lane, Red Hill Way, Beaumont Leys Lane.

This order is necessary due to highway improvement works taking place and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
This Order will come into effect on the 9th August 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
