THE LEICESTER (GRANBY STREET PHASE 2) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles and prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Granby Street between its junctions with York Street and with Belvoir Street from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.
Diversion route: York Street, Albion Street.
Diversion route: St Georges Way, Humberstone Road, Humberstone Gate, Charles Street, Rutland Street.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles and prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Chatham Street between its junction with Granby Street and a point 70 metres southwest thereof from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.
Suspend existing one-way restriction and prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Chatham Street between its junction with Stamford Street and a point 40 metres northeast thereof from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.

Prohibit the movement of cyclists in a westbound direction on Granby Street at its junction with St Georges Way from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.

Prohibit the movement of cyclists in an eastbound direction on Granby Street between its junctions with Chatham Street and with Dover Street from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.
Diversion route: Belvoir Street, Stamford Street, Chatham Street, Albion Street, Dover Street.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles and prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Dover Street between its junctions with Granby Street and with Calais Street from 12.00am on Wednesday 16th October 2024 until 11.59pm on Monday 18th November 2024.
Suspend bus gate on Rutland Street between its junctions with Charles Street and with Granby Street from 12.00am on Monday 5th August 2024 until 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th October 2024.

This order is necessary due to highway improvement works taking place and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
This Order will come into effect on the 5th August 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
