Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed between 7am and 5pm, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 26 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Schedule

1. that length of D3603 Broadway, Knaphill which extends from its junction with Bagshot Road to the northern property boundary of Knaphill Methodist Church. Alternative Route – A322 Bagshot Road, C11 Chobham Road and C12 High Street; 2. the entire length of D3760 Kings Head Lane, Byfleet. There is no alternative route available for this closure as Kings Head Lane is a cul-de-sac.
