What is happening?

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024 A68 WEST AUCKLAND ROAD, BRINKBURN ROAD, PRIOR STREET, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

Temporary Road Closure

BRINKBURN ROAD

From its junction with West Auckland Road eastwards for 2metres

An alternative route will be signed via Pierremont Road, Willow Road and vice versa.

PRIOR STREET

From its junction with West Auckland Road westwards for 2metres

An alternative route will be signed via Cockerton Green, West Auckland Road and vice versa.

And to suspend the parking bays on the west side of West Auckland Road from the junction with Prior Street South Back southwards for 25metres and to introduce No Waiting and No Loading at the same location to allow implementation of a temporary bus stop.

It is anticipated that these restrictions will be effective from 12th August for 6 days. No stopping at any time (clearway): and the prohibition of the driving of vehicles

WEST AUCKLAND ROAD

From the north side of Willow Road junction northwards to the south side of Bates Avenue junction

An alternative route will be signed via A6072, B6444 Heighington Lane, St Andrews Way, A167, A68 St Augustine's Way, Woodland Road and vice versa.

It is anticipated that these restrictions will be effective on 18th and 25th August.

Temporary Road Closure

LAING STREET

From its junction with West Auckland Road eastwards for 2metres

It is anticipated that this restriction will be effective from 19th August for 2 days. The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 12th August 2024.
