Maidstone, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

MAIDSTONE AREA

A274 Biddenden Road, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow bridge maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A274 Biddenden Road, Headcorn, on or after 5th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

A274 Biddenden Road will be restricted to 30mph, from the railway bridge to the junction with Bletchingdon Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

B2163 Teston Road, Teston (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow roadworks to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of B2163 Teston Road, Teston, on or after 23rd August 2024 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.

The speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of A26 Tonbridge Road and B2010 Lower Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Bull Lane, Stockbury, ME9 7UB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bull Lane, Stockbury, on or after 7th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Walnut Tree Cottage, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cowstead Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Cradles Road, Hill Green Road, The Street, Hill Green Road, Bull Lane and vice versa.

 

Ernest Drive, Maidstone, ME16 0QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ernest Drive, Maidstone, on or after 8th August 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside No. 2. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Leonard Close, Trevor Drive, Ernest Drive and vice versa.

 

Fishers Close, Staplehurst, TN12 0QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow electric works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Fishers Close, Staplehurst, on or after 19th August 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Newlyn Drive. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

Grigg Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grigg Lane, Headcorn, on or after 20th August 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed south of the junction with Southernden Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Southernden Road, Lenham Road, Forge Lane, Oak Lane, Grigg Lane and vice versa.

 

High Street, Maidstone, ME15 6YD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 202

To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Maidstone, on or after 19th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the Post Office, between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Parking will be prohibited between the junctions of Bishops Way and Mill Street.

The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via High Street, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, Earl Street, Pudding Lane, High Street.

The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, Earl Street, Pudding Lane, A229 Fairmeadow, High Street.

 

Lenham Road, Headcorn, TN27 9LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Headcorn, on or after 7th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Witherden Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lenham Road, Kings Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 North Street, Chartway Street, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Liverton Hill, Headcorn Road, Lenham Road and vice versa.

 

Oak Lane, Headcorn, TN27 9SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Oak Lane, Headcorn, on or after 19th August 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction of A274 Wheeler Street to 70. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Station Road, Forge Lane, Oak Lane and vice versa.

 

Stilebridge Lane, Marden, TN12 9BH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Stilebridge Lane, Marden, on or after 19th August 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of A229 Staplehurst Road to the junction of Underlyn Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Underlyn Lane, B2079 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road and vice versa.

 

West Park Road, South Park Road & Kent Avenue, Shepway, ME15 7RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Park Road, South Park Road & Kent Avenue, Shepway, on or after 23rd August 2024 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

West Park Road & South Park Road will be closed from the junction of Plains Avenue to the junction of Upper Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Kent Avenue will be closed from the junction of Plains Avenue to the junction of Surrey Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-way order on Plains Avenue will be suspended to allow access.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Park Way, Armstrong Road, Armstrong Roundabout, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Mote Road, A249 Mote Avenue, Mote Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Mote Road, A249 Mote Road, A229, Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, Park Way.

The alternative route for any Kent Avenue through traffic is via Cumberland Avenue, Northumberland Road, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, Park Way and vice versa.
