What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

A28 Rye Road, Newenden, TN18 5QG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Rye Road, Newenden, on or after 10th August 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Newenden Bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A28 Rye Road – A268 Rye Road, Megrims Hill, Rye Road – A229 Highgate Hill, Horns Road, Merriments Lane, Horns Hill, Coopers Corner – A21(T) London Road, Silverhill, Robertsbridge Bypass, Johns Cross Road, Vinehall Road, Woodmans Green Road, Hastings Road, New Road, Whydown Hill, Kent Street, Ebdens Hill - A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane, Main Road, Brede Road, Brede Hill, Cackle Street, Northiam Road, Horns Cross, Well House Hill, Perryman Cross, Hastings Road, Main Street, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

B2067 Ruckinge Road, Hamstreet.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2067 Ruckinge Road, Hamstreet, from 22nd August 2024, with estimated completion by 23rd August 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2067 The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-Way Order on B2067 Ruckinge Road will be suspended for the duration of the works.

The alternative route is via B2067 The Street and B2067 Cock Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bentley Road, Willesborough, TN24 0ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow cable works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bentley Road, Willesborough, on or after 19th August 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 105, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Osborne Road, Hunter Avenue, Bentley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bulltown Lane, Brabourne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bulltown Lane, Brabourne, from 20th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 1 Primrose Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Pilgrims Way, Hampton Lane, Plumpton, Bulltown Lane and vice versa.

 

Denne Manor Lane, Chilham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Denne Manor Lane, Chilham, on or after 7th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Shottenden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Egerton Road, Charing, TN27 0AY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow gully works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Egerton Road, Charing, on or after 10th August 2024, with estimated completion by 11th August 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Vicarage Lane and the junction with Lodge Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Hill, Lenham Heath Road, Lenham Forstal Road, Forstal Road, Ashford Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Charing Heath Road, Tile Lodge Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Egerton Road, Pluckley, TN27 0PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Egerton Road, Pluckley, on or after 5th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Prebbles Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via New Road, Rock Hill Road, Mundy Bois Road, C86 Mundy Bois Road Junction With C146 Pinnock Road To Junction With Green Hill Lane (known locally as Mundy Bois Lane), The Pinnock, Smarden Road, Forge Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Grange Road, Tenterden, TN30 6DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow gas connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Grange Road, Tenterden, on or after 5th August 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Grange Road, Shoreham Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Halden Road, Biddenden, TN26 3HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road, Biddenden, on or after 6th August 2024, with estimated completion by 7th August 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Bush Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via High Halden Road, A252 Tenterden Road, A252 Biddenden Road, A28 Ashford Road, Bull Lane, Pot Kiln Lane, High Halden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Street, Wye, TN25 5BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow apparatus repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Wye, on or after 7th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 34, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Upper Bridge Street, Oxenturn Road, Naccolt Road, Hinxhill Road From Junction With Goodcheap Lane To Nackolt Road, Hinxhill Road, Honeysuckle Avenue, A20 Hythe Road, Willesborough Interchange, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout, A2070 Kennington Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Harville Road, Bridge Street, Churchfield Way and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hurstford Lane, Charing, TN27 0EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow carriageway void repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Hurstford Lane, Charing, from 19th August 2024, with estimated completion by 2nd October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Calehill Road (known as The Street), Pluckley Road and Leacon Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Priory Road, Bilsington, TN25 7JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Priory Road, Bilsington, on or after 20th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2067 Bonnington Road (right exit), to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Priory Road and B2067 Bonnington Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Redbrook Street, Woodchurch, TN26 3QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Redbrook Street, Woodchurch, on or after 6th August 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Appleberry Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Plurenden Road, Bethersden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Romney Road, Ashford, TN24 0RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Romney Road, Ashford, on or after 7th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 35, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order on Romney Road will be temporarily suspended and made two-way for the duration of the works to allow for access.

The alternative route is via A292 Hythe Road, Hunter Road, Glover Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Surrenden Road, Pluckley.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Surrenden Road, Pluckley, on or after 5th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Wallfield Barn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Surrenden Road, Malmains Road, Station Road, The Street, Forge Hill, Charing Road, Swan Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Street, Chilham, CT4 8EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow new ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Chilham, on or after 6th August 2024, with estimated completion by 7th August 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bakery House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hambrook Lane, School Hill, The Square and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Watery Lane, Westwell, TN25 4JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024

To allow tree and vegetation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Watery Lane, Westwell, from 19th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of  the entrance to Tarmac Hothfield Asphalt Plant works, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A20 Maidstone Road, Westwell Lane, Watery Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
