5. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The Order would come into force on Friday 2nd August 2024 and the anticipated works dates are specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order would remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions would be re­introduced should further works be required.

SCHEDULE 1

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON PROPOSED HUMPS - CRUSOE ROAD AND FRIDAY ROAD. CR4

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, under powers conferred by section 90A-F of the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to introduce 7 round-top humps, each 3.7 metres long, with a maximum height of 75mm high across the full width of the road, at the general locations specified in the Schedule to this notice.

2. A plan of the area showing the proposed humps can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey.

3. Any person desiring to comment on the proposal should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof in writing to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov. uk quoting reference ES/RH/Friday-Crusoe 2024 no later than 16 August 2024.

SCHEDULE

VARIATION OF OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES CHARGES THE MERTON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (NO. 11 ORDER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 23 July 2024, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 32, 35 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the 'Off-Street Parking Places' Order will be to revoke the Merton (Off-Street Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2019 and the Merton (Off-Street Parking Places) Minor Order 2021 and re-enact their provisions with amendments so as to:-

(a) vary the charges for season tickets in the relevant car parks specified in column 1 of the table for the time periods specified in column 2 of the table in Schedule 1 to this Notice so that:-(i) the charge for general users with non-diesel vehicles will be the corresponding charge in column 4 of the table in Schedule

1 to this notice, increased pro rata by the £150 supplementary charge for diesel vehicles;

(ii) the charge for users with non-diesel vehicles who are local residents or local workers will be the corresponding discounted charge in column 6 of the table in Schedule 1 to this notice, increased pro rata by the £150 supplementary charge for diesel vehicles;

(iii) the charge of £50 for a 12 month season ticket will apply for fully electric vehicles; and

(b) vary the charges for the car parks specified in column 1 of the table in Schedule 2 to this Notice, during the applicable chargeable hours, from the current charges in column 3 of the said table to the proposed charges in column 4 of that table;

(c) match the on-site 1.9 metre height restriction at the St Georges Road car park and the 2 metre height restriction at the Kenley Road, Morden Park, Peel House Lower, Queens Road and York Close car parks.

3. A copy the Order, which will come into force on 6 August 2024 and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX. Further information can also be viewed at all Merton operated libraries and on the Council's website at www. merton.gov.uk/parkingconsultation2024.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
