Frinton & Walton, Temporary Prohibition Of Use Due To Flood Defence Works
What is happening?

(Footpath 48 Frinton & Walton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 48, Frinton & Walton in the District of Tendring from Columbine Centre north for approximately 120 metres to the Naze Marine Holiday Park. The closure is scheduled to commence on 08 August 2024 to 19 November 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the refurbishment of the flood defence embankment is undertaken.
The remaining Frinton and Walton footpath 48 will stay open, however during bulk earth moving works it will not be safe to allow public access. Signage to be erected stating this at start of the dead end runs.
The alternative route will be via North Street, Standley Road, Prince's Esplanade, Hall Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 08 August 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
