What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC138945058: The City of Manchester (North Western Street, Ardwick Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on North Western Street From Chancellor Lane to Cresbury Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: 1. Union Street, Higher Ardwick, Chancellor Lane. 2. Cresbury Street, Dark Lane, Chancellor Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the demolition and replacement of an advertisement board. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 29th July 2024 to 7th August 2024 between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00. The order shall come into operation on 29th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 
ORDER NO. MCC139462344: The City of Manchester (Lever Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Lever Street from Houldsworth Street to Great Ancoats Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Lever Street, Houldsworth Street, Newton Street, Great Ancoats Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate repairs to dangerous building. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th July 2024 to 10th August 2024. The order shall come into operation on 27th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
