What is happening?

Central Bedfordshire Council notice of Confirmation of Public Path order highways act 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FLITWICK: PART OF FOOTPATH NOS 13 AND 22 AND WESTONING: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 13) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2024

On the 19 July 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpaths running between points A-B, G-H and H-I as shown on the Order maps.

The length of Footpath No 13, Flitwick to be stopped up extends from its junction with Footpath No 22, Flitwick at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0190 3320 in a west north-westerly direction for approximately 197 metres to terminate at the field boundary at OS GR TL 0171 3322. The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

The length of Footpath No 22, Flitwick to be stopped up extends from an unaffected part of Footpath No 22, Flitwick at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0217 3295 in a south-easterly direction along the eastern bank of the river Flit for approximately 50 metres, crossing the river Flit to terminate at its junction with Footpath No 13, Westoning at OS GR TL 0221 3292. The footpath is stopped up over its full width. The length of Footpath No 13, Westoning to be stopped up extends from an unaffected part of Footpath No. 13, Westoning at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0228 3285 in a north-westerly direction for approximately 100 metres following along the western bank of the River Flit to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. 22, Flitwick at OS GRTL 0221 3292. The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

The Order comes into force on 26 July 2024 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 25 July 2024 make an application to the High Court.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FLITWICK: PARTS OF FOOTPATH NOS 13 AND 22) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2024

On the 19 July 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to create public footpaths running between points E-D and G-J-K-I as shown on the Order map.

The length of Footpath No 13, Flitwick to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No 13, Flitwick, at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0156 3316 in a north-easterly direction for approximately 335 metres to its junction with Footpath No 22, Flitwick OS GR TL 0186 3330 where the new section of footpath terminates. The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The length of Footpath No 22, Flitwick to be created extends from an unaffected part of Footpath No. 22, Flitwick at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0217 3295 in a south-easterly direction at a distance of approximately 7 metres from the eastern river bank for approximately 50 metres to OS GR TL0221 3292 continuing in a south-easterly direction for approximately 95 metres to OS GR TL 0228 3286 where it turns and heads in a southerly direction for approximately 8 metres crossing a footbridge to terminate at its junction with Footpath No 13, Westoning at OS GR 0228 3285. The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

Central Bedfordshire Council notice of Confirmation of Public Path order highways act 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FLITWICK: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 14) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024

On the 19 July 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath No 14, Flitwick running along a line from point C-A to a line running from point C-F as shown on the Order map.

The length of Footpath No 14, Flitwick to be stopped up extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0187 3311 at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No 14, Flitwick in a generally north northeasterly direction for approximately 97 metres to OS GR TL 0190 3320 where it terminates at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 14, Flitwick. The footpath is stopped up across its full width. The length of Footpath No 14, Flitwick to be created extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0187 3311 at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No 14, in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 95 metres to OS GR TL 0195 3317 where it terminates at its junction with Footpath No 22, Flitwick. The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The new route in the Order comes into force on 18 August 2024 and the existing route will be stopped up on the date on which Central Bedfordshire Council certify that the public footpath described in Article 2 of the Order has been set out to their satisfaction but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 25 July 2024 make an application to the High Court.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14

Central Bedfordshire Council

(Ridgmont: Parts of Bridleway no 4 and FootPath no 13)

(Temporary Prohibition of through traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 21 July 2023 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot, or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of public:

I.   Bridle way No 4, Ridgmont which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9762 3669 to OS GR SP 9720 3652

And to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public:

II.  Footpath No 13, Ridgmont which extends from OS GR SP 9744 3676 to OS GR SP 9712 3660 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 28 July 2025.

These temporary closures are required as there is a missing bridge crossing. the closures are expected to continue from 29 July 2024 for up to twelve months.

The alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closure is in operation will be:

Along Station Road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northwood End Road, Haynes outside number 63. This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

it is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 14 august 2024. the road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Plummers Lane, Standalone Warren, Northwood End Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Salford Road, Aspley Guise approximately 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable an annual inspection and rerail works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

it is expected that the works will take place from 11pm on 27 July to 4am on 29 July 2024. the road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Salford Road, Crabtree Lane, Cranfield Road, Wavendon Road, Salford Road, A507, Bedford Road, The Square, Church Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 27 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sampshill Road, Westoning approximately 20  metres either side of the railway bridge.

This temporary closure is required to enable vegetation clearance works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place as follows: from 10pm on 27 July to 6am on 28 July 2024 from 10pm on 3 august to 6am on 4 august 2024 from 10pm on 31 august to 6am on 1 september 2024 from 10pm on 14 september to 6am on 15 september 2024 the road will be closed at all times during these periods.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 27 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lower Shelton Road, Marston Moreteyne outside Shelton Farm.

This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

it is expected that the works will take place from 29 to 31 July 2024. the road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Lower Shelton Road, Beancroft Road, Bedford Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
