What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH ROAD, HIGH CROSS) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Road, High Cross from its junction with Pest House Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 22m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via High Road, Ermine Street, A10 (Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road), A1170 Wadesmill Road, Cambridge Road and High Road or via High Road, Cambridge Road, A10 Wadesmill Bypass, Ermine Street and High Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTWAYS IN WALTHAM CROSS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and footway (“the Footways”) will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
a) that length of A121 Monarchs Way, Waltham Cross from its junction with the A121 Winston Churchill Way/B176 High Street roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the A121 Eleanor Cross Way/Queens Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 465m.
An alternative route will be via A121 Winston Churchill Way, A10 Great Cambridge Road, A1055 Bullsmoor Lane and A1010 (Hertford Road/ High Street/Monarchs Way).
b) that length of Stanhope Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with A121 Monarchs Way north eastwards and eastwards for a distance of approximately 72m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
c) that length of Park Lane, Waltham Cross from its junction with Sturlas Way south eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 77m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
d) that length of High Street, Waltham Cross from its junction with Eleanor Cross Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A121 Monarchs Way, a distance of approximately 275m.
An alternative route will be via Eleanor Cross Road and A121 Monarchs Way.
e) that length of Eleanor Cross Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with the A121 Eleanor Cross Way/Queens Road roundabout south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 260m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A121 Monarchs Way, Waltham Cross from its junction with the A121 Winston Churchill Way/B176 High Street roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the A121 Eleanor Cross Way/ Queens Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 465m, when signs are in place.
3. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footway:-
a) the footway situated on the north side of A121 Monarchs Way, Waltham Cross from its junction with Swanfield Road south eastwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 458m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Swanfield Road, the footway situated on the west side of Eastern Drive, the footway situated on the west side of Railway Road, the footway situated on the north side of King Edward Road, the footway situated on the west side of York Road and the footway situated on the north side of Queens Road.
b) the footway situated on the south side of A121 Monarchs Way, Waltham Cross from its junction with the A121 Winston Churchill Way/ B176 High Street roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the A121 Eleanor Cross Way/Queens Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 433m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Sturlas Way, the footway situated on the north side of Park Lane, the footway situated on the east side of High Street and the footway situated on the north side of Eleanor Cross Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads and Footways.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Footways.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MANGROVE ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mangrove Road, Hertford from its junction with Hagsdell Road south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 160m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Mangrove Road, A414 London Road, B1197 (London Road/Hertford Road), A1170 Amwell Street, Amwell Street, Pauls Lane, Taverners Way, Lord Street, Goose Green Lord Street, Mangrove Lane and Mangrove Road.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN COLE GREEN AND HERTFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. the B195 Birchall Lane slip road leading onto A414 Cole Green Bypass, Cole Green from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of B195 Birchall Lane south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A414 Cole Green Bypass, a distance of approximately 60m.
An alternative route will be via B195 (Birchall Lane/Cole Green Lane/ Black Fan Road), A1000 Mundells, B1000 (Waterside/Hertford Road/ Welwyn Road), Thieves Lane South and A414 Cole Green Bypass.
2. that length of B195 Birchall Lane, Cole Green from its junction with the A414 Cole Green Bypass roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 58m.
An alternative route will be via A414 Cole Green Bypass, Thieves Lane South, B1000 (Welwyn Road/Hertford Road/Waterside), A1000 Mundells and B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/Birchall Lane).
3. that length of Birchall Lane, Cole Green from its junction with the A414 Cole Green Bypass roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 47m.
An alternative route will be via A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hatfield Road), the B1455 Holwell Lane roundabout, A414 (Hatfield Road/Cole Green Bypass), Hertingfordbury Road, The Old Coach Road and Birchall Lane.
4. the A414 Cole Green Bypass/B195 Birchall Lane roundabout, Hertford from its northernmost junction with the northbound carriageway of A414 Cole Green Bypass clockwise to its northernmost junction with the southbound carriageway of A414 Cole Green Bypass, a distance of approximately 37m.
An alternative route will be via A414 Cole Green Bypass, the Thieves Lane South roundabout and A414 Cole Green Bypass.
5. the A414 Cole Green Bypass/B195 Birchall Lane roundabout, Hertford from its southernmost junction with the southbound carriageway of A414 Cole Green Bypass clockwise to its southernmost junction with the northbound carriageway of A414 Cole Green Bypass, a distance of approximately 32m.
An alternative route will be via A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hatfield Road), the B1455 Holwell Lane roundabout and A414 (Hatfield Road/ Cole Green Bypass).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GODFRIES CLOSE, TEWIN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Godfries Close, Tewin from its junction with Upper Green Road eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN BENINGTON, THROCKING, WARE AND TEWIN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Church Green, Benington from its junction with Town Lane north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Benington Road, a distance of approximately 1832m.
An alternative route will be via Walkern Road.
2. that length of Cottered Road, Throcking from its junction with A10 Buntingford Bypass south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Cottered Public Footpath No.033, a distance of approximately 2493m.
An alternative route will be via A10 Buntingford Bypass, A507 Baldock Road and Throcking Road.
3. that length of Cromwell Road/Musley Lane, Ware from its junction with Winton Road north westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via Cromwell Road, Queens Road, Fanhams Road and Trinity Road.
4. that length of Hertford Road, Tewin from a point 268m south east of its junction with Lower Green south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junctions with B1000 Hertford Road, a distance of approximately 1963m.
An alternative route will be via Hertford Road, Lower Green, School Lane, Churchfield Road and B1000 Hertford Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 30 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

An alternative route will be via High Road, Ermine Street, A10 (Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road), A1170 Wadesmill Road, Cambridge Road and High Road or via High Road, Cambridge Road, A10 Wadesmill Bypass, Ermine Street and High Road.
The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SUBWAY SITUATED BENEATH A1170 DINANT LINK ROAD, HODDESDON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all subway users from using the subway situated beneath A1170 Dinant Link Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Burford Street south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Haslewood Avenue, a distance of approximately 85m (“the Subway”).
An alternative route will be via Burford Street, A1170 Dinant Link Road, the subway situated beneath A1170 Dinant Link Road, A1170 Dinant Link Road and Haslewood Avenue.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Subway.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Subway.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rags Lane, Goffs Oak from a point 130m south west of its northernmost junction with Crouch Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Rags Lane, Crouch Lane, Rags Lane, Peakes Way, Rosedale Way, Andrews Lane and Rags Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Church Street, Ware from its easternmost junction with A1170 High Street north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 367m.
An alternative route will be via A1170 (High Street/Baldock Street), The Bourne and Crib Street.
2. that length of Aspenden Road, Buntingford from its junction with London Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with 3U20 (unnamed raod), a distance of approximately 857m.
An alternative route will be via London Road, A10 (unnamed road/ Puckeridge Bypass), Mentley Lane West, C16 (Great Munden/Nasty/ unnamed road) and 3U20 (unnamed road).
3. that length of Luynes Rise, Buntingford from its junction with Aspenden Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 25m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Fairfield, Buntingford from its junction with Aspenden Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN MOVEMENTS FROM THE B198 LIEUTENANT ELLIS WAY/ROSEDALE WAY ROUNDABOUT INTO B156 GOFFS LANE, GOFFS OAK) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a left turn manoeuvre from the B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way/Rosedale Way roundabout into the westernmost junction of B156 Goffs Lane (“the Roads”), whilst signs are in place.
An alternative route will be via B156 (Goffs Lane/Churchgate Road/ Flamstead End Road/Brookfield Lane West/Halfhide Lane), A1170 Great Cambridge Road, A10 (Turnford Link Road/unnamed road/Hoddesdon Link Road), A1170 Amwell Hill, B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road), A414 (London Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 (Hale Road/Pegs Lane/Bullocks Lane/ Horns Mill Road/Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Low Road/Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill/Kentish Lane), A1000 Great North Road, B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway/East Ridgeway/Plough Hill) and B156 (Cuffley Hill/Goffs Lane).
The Order is needed because telecoms upgrade works are proposed to be executed near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of The Street, Braughing from its junction with Ford Street south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Green Lane, a distance of approximately 203m.
An alternative route will be via Ford Street, B1368 (Green End/Hay Street/ Dassels/Dassels Hill/unnamed road), Worsted Lane, The Street, The Causeway, Patient End, Braughing Road, Pelham Road and The Street.
2. that length of The Causeway, Buntingford from its junction with River Green north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been placed and shall come into force on 30 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
